Pray For Egyptian Christians
1/1/2011

In what is starting to become a common occurrence all around the word, Christians in Alexandria, Egypt were attacked by by a powerful bomb as they exited a church building after a New Year's eve service. Christians in the West MUST remember our brothers and sisters in Christ wherever they may be.

As we start a new year, we need to commit ourselves to praying for our fellow Believers. We should pray that not only would they shine as lights in the darkness but that God would protect them from the schemes of the devil.

We also need to pray that God would restrain the wicked forces that seek to destroy His children. Along with that, we need to pray that God would call the men and women into the light of the Gospel; even those who are trapped in wicked religions.

The last thing we should be doing is nothing. Or thinking that others must be doing the praying therefore we don't need to.

Hebrews 13:3 tells us to "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; [and] them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." We have a responsibility to remember every member of the true Body of Christ and to lift them before Almighty God on a regular, ongoing basis.

It's time to stop playing church and start BEING the Church! That means waking up spiritually (Ephesians 5:14) and heeding the Spirit's call to love one another, even if it means setting aside our own desires on behalf of others (John 15:13).

Let's make this year a year of prayer.
