Don't Let Bullies Hold You Down
Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. That's what I heard over and over while growing up. My siblings and I were continually reminded to "consider the source." In other words, if someone is saying something about you that you know isn't right, ignore them. That's great practical advice. Who cares what a liar thinks? So why do so many people in America in 2018 get so "offended" about every perceived ill-spoken word?

And both sides think that there's something the government "should" do to fix the problem. My Words Shall Not Pass Away
Have you ever thought about how great our Lord and Savior really is? I don't mean singing songs or things like that, necessarily. What I mean is have you ever considered what He Himself has said about Himself? For instance, in Matthew 24:35 Jesus says the following: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Think about that for a moment. Heaven and earth will pass away, but the words of our Lord will not pass away. So Jesus' words must carry an importance we don't always seem to grasp.

When Jesus quoted that verse from Deuteronomy (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4) while being tempted by Satan, He set a standard for all believers to follow. He made it clear that physical life is only one small part of the big picture. That big picture includes the more important part which is spiritual life. The Real "Anti-Gay" Message
With the recent "Duck Dynasty" flap, the anti-Christian bigotry of the main stream media was on full display once again. All it took was a successful businessman answering a question with an honest answer. Regarding the question of what sin is, Phil Robertson gave a biblical answer, quoting from 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Those verses mention a number of sins but the only one that hit a raw nerve was the one regarding homosexuality. For that he was branded a "homophobe" and "anti-gay" and, of course, all Bible-believing Christians were tarred with the same brush.

One of the popular statements of the “Once Saved Always Saved” false gospel is that when you "accept Jesus as your personal Savior" all your sins are forgiven: past, present and future. Why Not Fertilize The Soil?
In Luke 13:1-9 Jesus tells a parable about a tree that isn't producing fruit. The owner of the vineyard wants it to be cut down as it isn't producing. But the vinedresser intercedes and states that he'll dig around it and fertilize it then give it one more year. This is wise advice that we would do well to follow.
