Jesus warned His followers to "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15). His very next words gave us the key to recognizing these false prophets: "Ye shall know them by their fruits."
But let's be extra careful here and not take anything out of context. Here's the complete text from Matthew 7:15 - 21:
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:15-21)
Notice that Jesus tells us in verse 16 that we'll know these false prophets by their fruit. But then He states it again in verse 20. He's showing us how to recognize not just false prophets, but how to recognize the real thing. It's all about the fruit of a person's life. That being said, all we need to do is look at Mr. Obama's "fruit" to see if he's a Christian, or a "false prophet."
The first fruit we can look at is his stance on abortion; Mr. Obama is the most pro-abortion president we've ever had. This is a man who not only believes that children in the womb should be killed, but that American taxpayers should pay to do the killing of these innocent lives. The Word of God say that children are a blessing from God (Psalm 127 among many). Mr. Obama says they're a "punishment" to be dealt with by killing them (

For the actual Bible believing Christian (it's sad that we have to use the phrase "Bible believing Christian" to point out what a Christian actually is, but that's the day and age we live in) weekly fellowship meetings are a highlight of the week. In fact, the Bible tells us not to forsake gathering together (Hebrews 10:25). But where can we usually find Mr. Obama on a Sunday? Playing golf, of course.
The few "preachers" that Mr. Obama associates with are men who aren't preachers of Christianity at all but race-baiters who are more interested in assigning blame to a certain segment of society. They then turn that "message" into big profits for themselevs and their "ministries." This isn't a surpise as the Apostle Paul warned us almost 2,000 years agao that men would turn away from the truth to liars who will tell them what they want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
The Bible teaches us that work is a blessing that God then uses to bless us. Those who won't work, shouldn't eat either (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12). In fact, Paul goes on to say that someone who doesn't care for his family is worse than an infidel (1 Timothy 5:8). What does Mr. Obama say? That we need to keep people unemployed because it's "good" for the economy. Perhaps -- if he's a Christian -- he should consider what God has to say about this issue. But he won't consider it because Mr. Obama is not a Christian.
I recently heard Rick Santorum say that "If he says he's a Christian then he's a Christian." Sadly, that tells us more about Mr. Santorum than it does about Mr. Obama. The truth is, calling oneself something doesn't make it so. After all, what if someone says they're the Queen of England? Does that make it so? Obviously not, unless it's the actual Queen of England who says it.
There is much more we could look at in regard to Mr. Obama's "fruit" like his tax policy. Charles Krauthammer wrote a commentary about Mr. Obama's "gospel" that doesn't really line up with Scripture at all. In that article Mr. Obama is quoted as he takes Jesus teaching in Luke 12:48 out of context to try and justify the government taking more money from honest law-abiding citizens. I would suggest that Mr. Obama should actually read that entire passage and realize that Jesus is talking about personal responsibility, not about stae coerced tax increases. You can read the whole thing here

Also, running up massive debt as Mr. Obama has done is completely unbiblical. The Bible tells us to live simply and to be content with what we have (1 Timotyhy 6:7-10). But what does Mr. Obama do? He plays class war, telling people that they could get more "freebies" from the government if only the "greedy rich" would allow him to take more of their money. He's causing people to lust after money which the Bible says is the "root of all evil."
It's sad that so many people think being a Christian just means calling yourself a Christian. It doesn't help that person to find eternal life, and it brings great dishonor to the Kingdom of God when Christians in name only spew their hypocrisy around for all to see. But at least for true bleievers, we have a clear path ahead of us.
1) We need to pray for all the unrepentant sinners who claim to be Christians; Mr. Obama included. Getting on our knees MUST be the first step we take, but not the only step.
2) We need to get on with the business of spreading the Gospel so that the world can discover what Christianity is really all about.
3) We, as Americans, need to support true Christians who are in public life. We do this with our prayers as well as by sharing with others.
We're called to be salt and light as well as disciple-makers. Let's get off the sidelines and get into the "game" just as Jesus commanded us to do (Matthew 28:18-20).
Society is sick because the church has abdicated it's responsibility to take the Gosepl into all the world. Don't sit around and complain, start sharing the Gospel and maybe we'll see some "Christians In Name Only" actually get saved.
